Authorized Inspection Scope
To ensure we meet your specific project needs, please note our current licensing focus:
- Private Passenger Vehicles: Custom cars, hot rods, classic restorations, and out-of-province imports.
- New-to-BC Residents: Fast-track compliance for your personal daily driver or weekend cruiser.
- What we do NOT inspect: We are currently not authorized for commercial vehicles, trailers, or heavy industrial equipment.

If your vehicle requires modifications to pass the BC provincial standard, you don't need to tow it elsewhere. Our Refinishing & Custom Shop is equipped to handle:
- Structural Fabrications: Correcting frame or suspension issues to meet code.
- Finishing: If we find corrosion during the inspection, we can blast and powder coat components to protect your investment from BC’s coastal climate.
Pre-Inspection Checklist
Most inspection failures are caused by small, preventable issues. Review this list to ensure your custom or classic vehicle is ready for its BC provincial safety audit.
Item 1: Documentation & Identity
- Paperwork & VIN
- You must have your original out-of-province registration or title. Ensure the VIN plate on the dash or door jamb is clean and matches your documents exactly.
Lighting & Electrical
- Lights & Dash Indicators
- All signals, high/low beams, and brake lights (including the third brake light) must function. No safety warning lights (ABS, Airbag, Check Engine) should be illuminated.
Glass & Visibility
- Windshield & Window Tint
- No cracks or large chips in the wiper sweep area. Important: BC law prohibits any aftermarket tint on the windshield or front side windows.
Tires & Braking
- Tread Depth & Parking Brake
- Tires must have at least 3/32” (2.4mm) of tread. The parking brake must be fully functional and capable of holding the vehicle on an incline.
Chassis & Environment
- Leaks & Exhaust
- The vehicle must be free of active fluid leaks (Oil, Coolant, Transmission). The exhaust system must be leak-free and exit behind the passenger compartment.
Custom Ride Height
- Clearance & Suspension
- For lowered vehicles, no part of the chassis or body should touch the ground if a tire goes flat. All bushings and shocks must be in good structural condition.

If you know your vehicle has a deficiency Like a cracked windshield, worn bushings, or a custom exhaust leak. Contact us before your inspection. Our fabrication and finishing team can often resolve these issues in house, saving you a "Fail" result and a re-inspection fee.
